== General Concepts ==
Sogo is using standard components to provide full groupware capabilities.

You normaly need these components for a fully working system:

 * Mailserver providing IMAP access. Known to work well are [[http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/|cyrus]] and [[http://www.dovecot.org/|dovecot]].
 * Database postgresql, mysql or oracle for storing user settings, calendars etc.
 * At least one source of authentification for your users. LDAP ([[http://www.openldap.org/|openLDAP]]), ActiveDirectory or database (postgres,mysql or oracle).
   If you already use ldap for your mailserver, then it's a good idea to use this also for your sogo installation
 * Sogo and Nginx [[ nginxSettings | see the configuration]]
